I try to incorporate this understanding in my teaching, using both my cultural awareness of different parts of the world and my knowledge of second language acquisition to work with my students. I believe very strongly that doing this, combined with open communication and working closely with classroom teachers, will help ESOL students successfully learn English and do well both here at Hampton Oaks and later on in life.
