Mrs. Clark is entering her 2nd year as a kindergarten teacher at Hampton Oaks Elementary School. She previously taught 1st grade in Fairfax County, VA.  Mrs. Clark loves to teach students how to read and get excited about reading! She received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Wilmington University.  Mrs. Clark enjoys long drives in the countryside, loves to read and to be outdoors.  She grew up in Cold Spring Harbor, NY but loves living in Virginia with her husband, her mischievous cat, Gracie and rambunctious puppy, Griffin. 
 

Monica Saunders

This will be Ms. Saunders second year teaching kindergarten at Hampton Oaks Elementary.  She has also spent many wonderful years teaching preschool at Hazelwild in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  She has a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington.  When not planning lessons, Ms. Saunders can often be found enjoying the outdoors or surfing the net.

​First Grade
Ms. Leitner is entering her 3rd year as a first grade teacher at Hampton Oaks Elementary School. She started teaching first grade at Hampton Oaks in 2013. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia in 2012. She received her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Christopher Newport University in 2013.

Rachel O'Mara
First Grade
Ms. O'Mara is entering her 1st year teaching first grade at Hampton Oaks. She started her teaching career in Manassas City, where she taught for three years before growing tired of the long commute and transferred to Stafford County. Ms. O’Mara is a graduate of the University of Phoenix where she earned a Masters of Arts in Education. Ms. O’Mara was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. She moved around and lived in places like Colorado, Florida, and even overseas in Germany for 4 years, finally settling back in Virginia. She has two amazing sons and two wonderful soon-to be step children. Ms. O’Mara loves traveling with her family, her favorite place to go is Disney World, which is also where she will be getting married next August! She also loves football Notre Dame and the Minnesota Vikings are her favorite teams!

Mrs. Wagner is entering her 8th year as a first grade teacher at Hampton Oaks Elementary School. She started teaching first grade at Hampton Oaks in 2008. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University –Sacramento.  She earned her Masters of Arts in Education from The University of Phoenix while living in Pretoria, South Africa. Mrs. Wagner loves spending time with her husband, two girls and her dog, Rhodey.

Mrs. Broadstone is a proud graduate of Mary Washington College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Teaching second graders is her passion! Outside of school, Mrs. Broadstone enjoys spending time with her family and adores playing with her five grandchildren!

Mrs. Carter is in her second year at Hampton Oaks.  A native of Ohio, she earned a bachelor's degree in history from the Ohio State University.  Before teaching, she worked as a newspaper reporter and technical writer.  She has a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University in 2009.

Ms. Campbell is native of the Fredericksburg area, and is entering her third year as a 3rd Grade Teacher at Hampton Oaks Elementary.  She got her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Mary Washington in 2012. She then received her Master’s degree in Elementary Education in 2013, also from UMW.

Barbara Kuhn
​Third Grade
Mrs. Kuhn has been teaching in Stafford County Public Schools since 2003 and has experience in both 2nd and 3rd grade.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Elementary Education with a concentration in Grades Pre-K thru 6th. She was born and raised in New York City. After serving 4 years in the U.S Navy, where she met her husband, David, she graduated with her Teaching Certification from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.  Mrs. Kuhn’s family moved to Virginia when her family was assigned here with the US Navy. She has lived on 5 of the 7 continents with Europe being her favorite.   Mrs. Kuhn has 1 child, a son, who is currently studying Marine Biology at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia.  He is expected to graduate in May 2016. Mrs., Kuhn’s hobbies include traveling, bike riding, and collecting frogs.  She is a passionate New York Mets fan and she loves summer time and going to the beach.

Mrs. Miller is entering her second year teaching third grade at Hampton Oaks Elementary.  She previously taught sixth and seventh grade in Virginia and North Carolina.  She received her Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University.  Mrs Miller enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and watching sports. 

Kerri Pastwik
Third Grade
Mrs. Pastwik is entering her 8th year as a teacher at Hampton Oaks Elementary. She taught 1st grade for 6 years. Then, looping with her last group of first graders, she spent a year teaching 2nd grade. This year, she is excited to be joining the 3rd grade team.  Mrs. Pastwik earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Childhood and Middle Childhood Education with a concentration in Spanish from Niagara University in New York State in 2008. She received her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and Literacy Specialist certification from George Mason University in 2013.

Miss Doerr is entering her seventh year as a 4th grade teacher.  This is her third year at Hampton Oaks Elementary.  Previously, she taught for four years in Culpeper County.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grove City College in western Pennsylvania.   She grew up in Syracuse, New York.  Miss Doerr truly loves living and teaching in Virginia!

Mrs. Wobensmith is entering her 5th year at Hampton Oaks Elementary School. She has taught 4th grade all 5 years. Before teaching elementary school, Mrs. Wobensmith taught preschool/pre-kindergarten at Red Apple Preschool for 3 years. A Maryland native, Mrs. Wobensmith earned her undergraduate in psychology from Salisbury University. After staying home with her children for 11 years, she went to school and earned her Masters of Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix while living in Okinawa.

Mrs. Cardona is entering her 3rd year as a Reading Specialist at Hampton Oaks Elementary.  Before joining Hampton Oaks, she was a Reading Specialist at Rocky Run Elementary School.  Her teaching career began in 1999 with Teach for America in her hometown of New York City. She taught 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in New York City before moving to Virginia to be with her husband serving in the USMC.  Mrs. Cardona earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and her Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and Reading Certificate from Fordham University.  She enjoys spending her time with her husband, 15 year old daughter, and 4 year old twins.
 

Julie Rhoads 
Math Specialist
Julie Rhoads began her teaching career in Stafford County in 2002 at Rockhill Elementary. She taught first grade for one year before moving to Park Ridge Elementary. While at Park Ridge, Mrs. Rhoads taught second and third grades.  In 2008, Mrs, Rhoads became the Math Specialist 
at Hampton Oaks.  Mrs. Rhoads earned her undergraduate degree in history with a NK-6 teaching certification from Mary Washington College and her masters degree from the University of Virginia in Elementary Mathematics Education. Mrs. Rhoads loves spending time with her husband and three kids.

 

Joe Jarski
Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT)
Mr. Jarski, originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, is entering his 4th year as an ITRT at Hampton Oaks Elementary. He taught 2nd and 5th grade at Rocky Run Elementary in Stafford County for 8 years before coming to Hampton Oaks Elementary. He got his Bachelor of Science in Education from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania in 2003. He received his Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Technology Leadership from George Mason University in 2009.  Mr. Jarski is an avid sports fan and still plays football, basketball, and volleyball as much as he can.

Mark Erickson
P.E.
Mr. Erickson is entering his 2nd year at Hampton Oaks as one of the Physical Education teachers. Mr. Erickson taught Physical Education for three years at Mary Walter Elementary in Fauquier County before coming to Hampton Oaks. He holds his bachelor degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Spring Arbor University, as well as his masters degree in Health Promotion/Education from the University of Alabama.

Mrs. Ritchie started teaching at Hampton Oaks November 2014.  She has returned to public school after a 23-year hiatus during which she raise 4 children, traveled the globe and living in Cornwall, UK.  She is a potter, craft fair artisan, glass artist and interior painter. Lasana received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Master's in Art and English Education from the University of Saint Francis.
